Thank You Cam Davies, Fred Munn, Ravina Chand and members of the Republican Party of Alberta, The Independence Party and Fellow Independence-Minded Supporters
First and foremost, heartfelt congratulations on the dedication and energy you have shown in advancing Alberta’s voice. In times when negativity and division can easily overwhelm us, your commitment to putting Alberta’s interests first—through principled advocacy and grassroots engagement—deserves genuine acknowledgment and gratitude. We recognize the challenges you’ve faced and the criticism that often follows bold action; yet you continue to stand for self-governance, resource control, and a future shaped by Albertans themselves.
At The Independence Party, we aim to move forward with unity of purpose, and determination. We don’t see yesterday’s byelections as a loss, we see it as an opportunity to continue building the bridges and trust that will see a stronger independence movement!
Moving forward, we pledge to collaborate and work closely with the Republican Party and any other independence party that joins with us on educational and strategic goals: sharing research, co-hosting town halls, and coordinating outreach so that our combined efforts encourage Albertans to have the courage to join us to make Alberta the greatest nation on earth!
We believe leaders are not defined by titles alone but by their ability to offer real solutions—solutions that improve lives, secure our economy, and safeguard our freedoms. We have those leaders and know there are many more with us.
We believe Alberta must have a binding referendum process for independence that must be enacted into Alberta law. Without a mandatory legal obligation, even the clearest public petition risks becoming mere symbolism. Together, we can formulate a plan to encourage sitting MLAs to introduce and support legislation that guarantees that should a majority of Albertans vote “yes” in a legitimate referendum, our government is bound by law to act.
We understand that many people’s skepticism, negativity, and fear have been the result of politicians in Alberta that have spread misinformation and work not for the people of Alberta, but rather, for the benefit of Ottawa. People are very fearful of change and very distrustful in politicians, so it is up to our independence movement to give them a solid vision of what they have to look forward to, and what they will be leaving behind. That’s why our approach must be grounded in transparency and truth.
Thank you for your steadfast efforts and for welcoming collaboration in pursuit of our common goal. Together, as leaders and as engaged citizens, we can transform frustration into forward motion. Let us unite around a clear goal which is the path to independence!
The work ahead is significant, but with unity and determination, we can and will bring historic changes to benefit the people of Alberta.
Let’s make Alberta an even greater place to live!
Ron Robertson
President
The Independence Party of Alberta
