Interim Leader Appointment

Dear TIP Members,

We hope this message finds you well and energized by the continued progress of the independence movement in Alberta.

As part of our duty to maintain clear direction the TIP Board of Directors, in their most recent meeting, discussed the importance of having an interim leader. 

For the last year we have been in discussions with individuals as potential leadership candidates; realizing we are approaching a pivotal time in Alberta history. 

In accordance with our bylaws and recognizing the importance of strong, experienced stewardship in the near future, we have reached a consensus.

The Board of Directors has made the decision to appoint Ron Robertson, Party President, to also take on the role of Interim Leader of The Independence Party of Alberta. Ron brings years of leadership experience, deep commitment to the principles of Alberta independence and a clear understanding of the party's platform and operations.

This decision is not made lightly—it is based on merit, continuity and the urgent need for stable representation as we move into a critical season of growth, visibility and preparation for future elections.

Increasingly, we receive requests for public presentations, discussions and interviews and we feel the position cannot remain vacant any longer.

We understand the importance of transparency and democratic process for our membership and to that end:

·  A leadership contest and election will be scheduled for 2026 where our members shall determine the person who will lead the Party forward to the next Provincial election.

·  Members are encouraged to bring forward nominations for the 2026 leadership contest, as well as providing their feedback and vision for the party's long-term leadership.

·  We will be hosting an online town hall in the near future to speak with our members, answer questions and obtain further member input.

We must be united to move forward to make Alberta the great nation it is destined to be.
