Alvin Larocque, Hereditary Chief of the Kanata Nation of Asini Wachi - Sits Down with The Independence Party and The Alberta Republican Party
The Independence Party (TIP) President, Ron Robertson, in collaboration with Cam Davies, the Leader of the Republican Party of Alberta, sat down with Alvin Larocque, Hereditary Chief of the Kanata Nation of Asini Wachi. An insightful and extremely fascinating discussion took place regarding common concerns, Alberta independence, shared values and how we can unite in the pursuit of Alberta’s independence and become a self determined and prosperous republic.
Chief Larocque brings a deeply respected voice and generational leadership rooted in sovereignty, ancestral knowledge, and an unwavering belief in the right of all peoples to self-governance. His support with the Alberta independence movement marks a significant and meaningful alliance — one that bridges Indigenous leadership and grassroots political advocacy.
“Alberta’s future must be determined by Albertans,” said Chief Larocque. “The Kanata Nation believes in the sovereignty of the land and of the people. The time has come to stand together — Indigenous and non-Indigenous — to reclaim our autonomy, protect our resources, and restore balance to how we govern and live.”
The discussion between Chief Larocque, TIP, and the Alberta Republicans reflects a shared commitment to:
Sovereign governance for Alberta and its people
Control over Alberta’s resources, taxation, and economic destiny
Mutual respect between Indigenous and settler communities
A peaceful, lawful path toward independence
This is not a merger of identities but a mutual alliance — one that honours the distinct histories, rights, and roles of all those who call Alberta home. It is a call to unity, strength, and vision — and a bold step forward in building a free and sovereign Alberta.
For Alberta. For Freedom. For Our Future.
