Federal Conservative Hopefull Calls Independence Party Racist!

Updated: Mar 7

In a March 7, 2023 article that appeared in RDNews Now, Penhold Mayor and Federal Conservative contestant for the 2025 Red Deer - Mountain View Riding went on to criticize Penhold Councillor Shawn Hamm for meeting Christine Anderson of the EU Parliament with Artur Pawlowski who has not been with the Independence Party since 2023. While it's obvious that Mr. Yargeau and Mr. Hamm have their differences, that has nothing to do with the Independence Party of Alberta.

While Mr. Yargeau states he will represent all Albertans as an MP if elected, it makes me wonder if "all Albertans" includes the thousands of Independence Party members as well as conservatives in Alberta that want Alberta independence? As someone who has been a member of both federal and provincial conservative parties throughout my lifetime, I have nothing good to say about a political candidate that smears thousands of good patriotic Albertans with the racist insult!

Quoting from the RDNews Now article, Yargeau stated: "We don’t want to in any way be associated with a racist like Christine Anderson or some of the other political activities which Councillor Hamm is involved with, such as The Independence Party and Artur Pawlowski. None of those are supported by the Town, but that’s his personal life." (Link to the article is below.)

All I can say is that I know many independence minded Albertans are members of the Conservative Party too, and this makes me wonder if the people of Alberta want an individual that labels thousands of us as racist as an Alberta representative in Ottawa? Will he represent those Albertans that have a desire for a free Alberta? Albertans have been taken advantage of and have been at odds with Ottawa for 120 years now and Ottawa has done nothing to make the lives of Albertans better.

If I judge Mr. Yargeau in the same manner that he has judged the thousands of members of the Independence Party, then in my opinion he clearly isn't fit to represent Albertans in Ottawa. My hope is that the CPC members in his constituency think long and hard before they vote for their candidate on March 8, 2025.
