Charlie Beaton is an accomplished Operations Analyst, Business Analyst, and Project Professional with more than 40 years of experience leading technology, operational improvement, and business transformation initiatives across government, energy, telecommunications, education, retail, construction, and non-profit sectors.
Throughout his career, Charlie has built a reputation for solving complex operational challenges through data-driven analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning. His expertise spans project coordination, document management, business process optimization, risk management, supply chain analysis, performance measurement, and enterprise technology management, enabling organizations to improve efficiency while reducing costs and increasing productivity.
Most recently, as a Business Analyst within an Indigenous community, Charlie conducted extensive research into federal, provincial, and municipal construction documentation requirements, standardized project artifacts, developed tracking systems for permits and training, and managed documentation workflows within Autodesk Construction Cloud. His work combined regulatory research, data management, and operational planning to support large-scale construction activities.
At 63, Charlie completed advanced studies in Data Management and Analysis at Bow Valley College, where he specialized in Excel, SQL, Tableau, and data visualization.
A passionate advocate for Alberta's aging population, Charlie serves as Principal of InCan Data Inc., where he develops initiatives focused on reducing senior isolation and loneliness while improving access to mental health resources and community connections. His work centers on creating safe, informative environments that connect seniors with services, educational content, and one another through innovative technology solutions.
His project leadership experience includes coordinating a $1.5 million Office 365 deployment across Alberta and Ontario, overseeing schedules and milestones, and ensuring successful delivery for enterprise clients. Earlier in his career, he led the deployment of over 1,400 networked classroom projectors and supporting infrastructure upgrades across 48 schools while managing union and non-union teams and multi-million-dollar budgets.
Supply chain and operational expertise was demonstrated at EnCana, where he digitized PO and Contract records, streamlined contract renewals by 90%, and successfully coordinated large-scale asset relocations over 9 months for 3800 computer systems and 2800 persons with zero losses while significantly improving project approval rates.
Today, Charlie continues to combine his extensive professional experience with his passion for community service, focusing on projects that leverage technology, data, and collaboration to improve quality of life for seniors while helping organizations achieve greater operational excellence.
